Leave and comp-off, without the register
Employees apply for leave from the app or the portal and see their balance before they apply. The manager recommends, HR decides, and approved leave flows straight into payroll.
What leave types can we set up?
As many as you need, each with a name and code, a yearly allowance and a monthly accrual (for example 1.25 days a month). For each type you choose whether it is paid, whether it needs approval, and whether unused days carry forward up to a limit. Year-end rollover happens on its own. Probation rules are supported.
How do employees apply?
They pick the leave type and dates, and each end can be a full day, first half or second half. They add a reason, attach a document if needed and choose people to notify by email. HRBloom shows how many days will be used before they submit.
Who approves leave?
The manager recommends, and HR decides in the admin panel. A reason is needed to reject. Every request stays in Leave History, and the Leave Report sums it up by employee.
How does comp-off work?
Each branch decides whether comp-off is earned on weekly offs, holidays or both, how many hours make a full day or half day, and how long a comp-off stays valid.

Rakesh works 8h 10m on a weekly off. The branch counts 8 hours as a full day.

HRBloom files a comp-off request for 1 day. Until HR approves, the day stays as overtime.
- HR approves
1 day is added to his comp-off balance and is no longer paid as overtime.
- Valid 60 days
If unused, it expires on 17 Dec. Rakesh sees the balance and expiry in the app.
- Every night, HRBloom files a comp-off request for anyone who worked a weekly off or holiday the day before. HR can also add one by hand.
- Unused comp-off expires after the validity period.
Leave questions
Does approved leave change the salary automatically?
Yes. Paid leave types do not cut salary, unpaid ones do, and payroll picks this up in the next run.
Can employees apply for half a day?
Yes, on the first or last day of the leave.
Do hourly-paid employees get comp-off?
No. Comp-off is for salaried employees only.
Can HR edit a leave balance?
Yes, from the employee's Leave Balance page.
